In 1972 the Gay family created an “invitation only” antiques, art, and craft festival to help showcase Meriwether County and its talent. Set amongst beautiful grounds, the restored historic buildings are lofty, built of wood, metals and beams.

The Venues At Towerhouse Farm Brewery

The Towerhouse Farm Brewery is located on the grounds of Longleaf, but it has is own distinct personality.

Gay, Georgia is located 39 miles south of the Atlanta Airport and 50 miles north of Columbus, Ga.

9am-5pm
Parking is free and on a first come basis.

The Historical Buildings

Each building on the Cotton Fair Grounds has its own unique history.

The Country Music Festival is going to be a day full of music not only from Iconic Artists, we also support our local artists on the Longleaf Locals Stage. It once served as a farming and supply center to the cotton and peach industries. We wear many hats, and each one is unique. Housed in a repurposed tobacco barn, it is designed for merging old-world traditions and flavors with new-world brewing technologies.

Here on the grounds you will find fantastic local businesses.

The rope drawn freight elevator still works to this day. 

Built to house J.R. Gay & Company, the 1911 Building is a 3-story, 8-room apartment and a small warehouse. Each year during the first weekend of May and October, the Festival brings a bustling crowd into our historic town of Gay. The festival is a chance to discover unique, skilled artisans and one-of-a-kind crafts and antiques.

The Cotton Fair has been a staple in the community of Gay, Georgia for over 50 years.

ALABAMA!

The Peach Packing Shed, built in the early 1900s, held workers packing fresh peaches into wood crates for delivery across the country.
Once the original homestead of the town’s founding Gay family, the property now brings together a collective of local businesses. J.R. Gay was an eligible bachelor, so he often used the warehouse as a ballroom to host social events in thriving Gay, Georgia.

It’s open spaces allow for larger celebrations, yet can be scaled to cozy, intimate events.

  • 300 capacity for cocktail or gatherings 150 capacity for seated events

  • A three sided open covered pavilion structure on one side with an enclosed space separated by a large open entry that looks into the covered pavilion area.

    • An agro warehouse built around, or before 1910.

      Judge W.F. Gay was appointed to serve as the town’s first postmaster in 1886 and was appointed as mayor when the Town of Gay incorporated in 1906. Just beside the 1911 Building sits the Blacksmith Shop, which originally held the Delco Battery Plant that provided 28-volt DC electricity to the town of Gay during the very early part of the 20th Century.

      F. Gay 1891 House was built by the town’s namesake, William Franklin Gay, in 1891. Creating a unique farm to glass brewery within the historic structures, it’s unique environment lends itself to great conversations over artisinal brews, live music and various events.
