Our future may be iffy, but at least Natasha Bedingfield’s new album is no longer unwritten.
Nearly a decade after her last album’s release, the Grammy-nominated British singer-songwriter has rolled out her fourth studio record, Roll With Me, which mixes politics with positivity.
The charity single ”Love Song to the Earth” called attention to climate change. I feel so compelled to play my part to make the world a better place, for others, and for my own son.”
To attract global attention to the cause of environmentalism, Natasha has twice performed at the United Nations, including a performance together with Paul McCartny and Sheryl Crow of her song Lovesong To The Earth. At the national level, Natasha has worked with Waterkeeper Alliance to help raise awareness of their mission and support the positive impact that organization is having on the environment.

Well, I write from my own life. They had survived terrible sexual abuse and were put in an orphanage. On Spotify alone, Unwritten has been streamed almost 1 billion times! Everyone gets to be. She also constantly reminded me that New Zealand was the first country that gave women the right to vote and instilled in me the conviction that there’s nothing that a woman can’t do.
We should be talking about that more and that should be more important than all this other stuff that we give so much attention to.
Was that ever a source of frustration when you first became famous? My music is a conversation and I live to see people join in. Not losing your hope. When you’re in New Zealand you see how, on a small island, environmental impacts are so amplified and undeniable.”
“My goal is to be an environmental steward, and even more generally to use my voice to reduce human suffering.
I’ve had a microphone in front of my face for all these years, and I’ve been entertaining, but now I want to say more things that matter, things that are beyond myself.
While tackling issues like gun violence and sexism, Roll With Me is still uplifting and hopeful. Why are you single? Say something that means something.
